Sébastien Cliche a obtenu un baccalauréat
en arts visuels à l'UQAM en 1995. Depuis, il a présenté son
travail lors de nombreuses expositions individuelles notamment à Montréal
au CENTRE SKOL et à la GALERIE CLARK ainsi qu'à Laval,
Québec, Rouyn-Noranda et London en Ontario. In
2006, il exposait son plus récent corpus photographique
intitulé Précipices à la GALERIE
101 (Ottawa). On le retrouve périodiquement au sein
de collectifs comme Le salon de l'agglomérat du
groupe UDO (GALERIE CLARK, 1999) et L'Échelle
humaine , un projet d'échange avec la communauté autour
de la perception des espaces publics (Sept-Îles, 2005).
Parallèlement à ses
projets en arts visuels, il poursuit un travail d'exploration
sonore. À ce titre, il a présenté sa
pièce /invisible field/ lors du festival
MUTEK (Montréal, 2005) et à LA CHAMBRE BLANCHE
(Québec). On a pu aussi l'entendre sur disque ou sur
scène avec Gringoplaza , le trio d'improvisation
dont il fait partie depuis 2001. En 2006, il a conçu
avec Christian Miron la partition sonore du projet chorégraphique Relevé de
Terrain (chor. Julie Lebel, Sept-Îles, 2006).
Il travail présentement à titre de commissaire
sur un projet réunissant des artistes du visuel et
de la musique autour de l'idée de partition graphique.
Cette exposition sera présentée en 2007 à la
GALERIE CLARK et à la GALERIE 101.

Sébastien Cliche obtained a bachelor’s degree
in visual arts from UQAM (1995). He has shown his work in
numerous solo exhibitions in Montréal (SKOL CENTRE,
CLARK GALLERY), Laval, Quebec City, Rouyn-Noranda and London,
Ontario. In 2006, he shown his recent work Précipices (on
Edge) at GALLERY 101 in Ottawa. He has also participated
in collective projects such as Le
salon de l’agglomérat
by the UDO group at the Centre d’art et de diffusion
Clark (1999), and L'échelle
humaine
(The Human Scale), an interactive project in various public
spaces in the community of Sept-Îles (2005).
Parallel to his visual artwork, he also produces
experimental sound work, and has presented his project /invisible
field/ at the MUTEK festival (2005) and more recently,
at the CHAMBRE BlANCHE
(Quebec City). He can also be heard on disk or stage
with Gringoplaza, an improvisational trio of which he has
been a member since 2001. In 2006, he created with Christian
Miron the musical score for Relevé de Terrain a
choregraphy by Julie Lebel
. At present time he's working as a curator on a project where
visual artists and musicians meet around the idea of visual
score. The exhibition will be presented in 2007 at the CLARK
GALLERY and at the GALLERY 101.
